Description

The best of both.

Every time you hit the trails, you want to go bigger, ride faster, and worry less about random rocks in the middle of your path, and your lightweight XC wheels aren't quite going to cut it. The Shimano XT WH-M776 All-Mountain Wheels give you more muscle than your standard XC set-up, but they don't weigh a ton like bulkier, downhill-specific wheels can.

  • Fat 26mm UST tubeless rims make room for tires up to 2.5 inches in diameter so you have plenty of surface area to grip the dirt
  • Disc-specific design includes low-profile rims and Centerlock-compatible disc hubs
  • Center Lock rotor compatibility gives you a simple, no-hassle, and bombproof rotor mount
  • The 20mm thru-axle front hub gives you heavy-hitting support and stiffness that can take a pounding
  • Straight-pull spokes and 2-cross lacing give you more torsional rigidity and help your spokes last longer
  • Front and rear wheels can be purchased separately

Impressed

I purchased this set of wheels after I abused my stock dt swiss wheels that came on my Specialized Enduro. I was looking at some other wheelsets that were, well lets say a bit more burley. WIth only 24 spokes, compared to 32 on most seemed a bit on the weak side but has proven to be contrary. I've had these wheels for roughly 6 months now with close to a thousand trail miles and there holding up amazing. I'm tough on my wheels and this set have seen the worst drops, cased doubles, rock gardens, whips that didn't come back, roots and heavy mud and they still spin true and I haven't tensioned the spokes yet. Not to mention running tubeless the entire time with no issue loosing pressure or rolling the bead off the rim.
I would say the only downfall was that I ended up needing to buy centerlock rotors. Not a big deal, however if you are running avid brakes its tough to run anything but an avid centerlock. I ended up spending another $100 on rotors! That is why I'm giving these wheels 4 stars not 5. However all said and done, I've got a bombproof AM/FR/DH wheelset thats tubeless and has center lock rotors for the price of a decent set of wheels. Highly recommend from someone that abuses wheels. These things are surprisingly strong!

I want to use these wheels, but my fork has standard quick-release dropouts. Would either of these solutions allow me to run my desired setup? Thank you.

These are awesome!

I ran these on my slopestyle bike last year and now they are going strong on my trail bike. Over rotated 3, cased back flip, no matter, the wheels hold strong! They have taken a beating on my trail bike all over Colorado and Utah. These are a great tubeless wheel out of the box. Center lock rotors are the only way to go, easy to install, easy to remove for travel.
