A slick design.

It’s hard to imagine that Shimano could improve upon the shifting performance of the Dyna-Sys 10-speed chain, but with the CN-HG95 XT 10-Speed Chain they’ve managed to reduce friction by roughly 60 percent. The CN-HG95’s directional/asymmetrical plate design allows the chain to glide effortlessly across cogs and chainrings, respectively. The new Sil-Tec surface treatment provides a quieter and cleaner ride while also increasing chain life.

Reliable Chain

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great chain for the money. Im on my second one, and I got a lot of riding out of the first one. Its easy to install and has been super reliable for me out on the trail. Great product!

Quality

Great chain at a great price. Threw this on after upgrading to a 1x crank with a Wolf Tooth 42 tooth cog in the rear. The chain fits perfectly on the narrow-wide chain ring and I have yet to drop a chain since the conversion.

Chizzain.

I've run Shimano XT HG-95 chains on all my geared rides, and most recently, I put one on my single speed build. So far, so good, no issues whatsoever. Since most rides these days are coming out with 11 speeds, the 10 speed chains seem to be losing popularity, thus their price keeps coming down! If you're still riding 10 gears, or SS, definitely pick one up!

Have yet to break one

Ive used XT chains for years now and still have yet to break one. They do what you need and seem to last quite a while. Price aint too bad either.

Solid chain for the cost.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Easy to install, shifts great, and with proper care it will last many miles. Haven't had any issues with dropped chains and it seems handle variable weather well.

I will likely purchase this again when the current one eventually wears out.

XT Chain

Works as designed. I usually pair it with a sram quicklink, no issues so far. Running it using the Wolftooth 42t cog and it shifts great.

GOAT IS GOOD

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Fair price—works as advertised (which is to say very good) on my XT group. Did not survive a wilderness ride that involved rain, mud and clay and a delay in cleaning the chain (rust everywhere).

Solid so far

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I used this for a 1x10 Shimano crank/cassette/derailleur set-up. Sizing was pretty straight forward and the chain has been working well through the dry stuff as well as wet and muddy. The crank is a wide-narrow type (Wolf Tooth) and this has not dropped nor have I had any shifting issues.
