Unless you've been sleeping under a rock on Neptune for the past five years, you know that hydraulic braking systems are making their way onto the road bike scene, and their virtues are many. To arm its customers who want to embrace this new technology, Shimano has released the ST-RS685 Hydraulic Disc Brake and Lever, compatible with all of Shimano's 11-speed mechanical drivetrains, including Dura-Ace, Ultegra, and 105.
The RS685s use a lightweight alloy lever set. The levers feature full reach adjustment and the same excellent ergonomics you'll find on any of Shimano's families of lever sets, so the feeling in your hand will be identical.
