New cleats feel like new pedals.

These are the cleats that come with your Shimano SPD Pedals. The SH-51 Cleats are black and have four degrees of float for your feet. Compared to the SH-56 Multi-Release Cleats, these are much more secure and are generally preferred for the experienced rider. To get out of your pedal, you'll have to swing your heel out a bit more than the SH-56 Cleats. Please Note: These will not work with older PD-M858 pedals (for those you'll need SH-52 Cleats). On that same note, if you have an aftermarket SPD-style pedal that isn't a Shimano branded pedal, these cleats are most likely not compatible with your pedals even though they might look remarkably similar to a Shimano pedal.

  • Four degrees of float
  • Slightly greater release angle than Multi-Release Cleats
  • Not compatible with older, M858 pedals

Nice SPD Cleats

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

This cleats are just great, they do not move when you are screwing them, neither when they are already on your shoes, no matter how many times you cleat/uncleat them from pedal they stay there.

Nice, very nice

Great cleat, reasonable weight, and, most importantly for me, long lasting. One pair of shoes I have these on have the cleats exposed to walking and after several years of wear and tear (7-10 thousand km's a year) they are still holding strong.

Does this cleat set include the plate. I recently bought the shimano shoes for my girlfriend and these cleats and neither came with the plate for the screws from the cleat to screw into.

how do i replace the plate in my shoes that the cleat screws into? i stripped the threads, and the cleat ripped out.

Responded on

You can try screwing the cleat in to the other set of holes in the plate, otherwise Shimano makes replacement plates that can be ordered. Thanks,
