Shimano SH-XC50 Shoes $0.00
The Shimano SH-X50 Shoes don't need a fancy name to impress you. In fact, instead of picking a fancy name for the shoes, Shimano engineers focused on building a rock-solid mountain bike shoe at reasonable price. Starting with a fiberglass-reinforced nylon soleplate and multi-density rubber sole, Shimano tackled the fine line between grip, stiffness, and ever-so-important durability. Sturdy synthetic leather won't let a few tumbles and scrapes destroy the shoe's integrity, while the micro-adjust buckle and two extra-large hook-and-loop straps keep things tight and responsive. When cleaning the next hill simply isn't in the cards, you'll appreciate the ability to install studs so you can at least walk comfortably up the hill.
- Profile grooves with variable density and soft arch support for added stability when pedaling
- Suitable for Shimano SPD pedals

Good, simple and durable
Nice shoes for general use. Very good for spring/autumn rides with dirt and mud , easy to clean and your feet are warm and dry (lack of vents on the shoe). A bit to hot for hot summer rides, again due to same reason.
In general very good shoe for its value.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
I bought these last year and have around 2000 miles wearing them. They are actually quite comfortable, much more so than my Shimano road shoes. The sole is stiff enough to pedal efficiently, but flexible enough to walk in. If you're used to something like a carbon sole that has virtually zero flex and you like that, these shoes may not be for you. I have gotten them soaked in creek crossings and they dry quickly. I prefer the ratchet strap at the top over a third velcro strap. These shoes are about midway on the clipless mtb shoes price scale and I think they reflect it in fit, design and performance. My friend wears some shoes that cost around $300. They are lighter and have a fancy closure system, but he talks about how he can barely walk in them. There is a good chance that when my XC50s wear out I will buy another pair. I feel they are a great value.
Shimano SH-XC50 Shoes
Bought these (not here) after a pair of Bontragers cracked across the sole plate (less than a year old...). These fit my feet very well, with no pinching or discomfort. Very comfortable shoes!
