A practical choice.

If you're just getting into mountain biking, the staggering array of options for just about every accessory you need can be admittedly overwhelming. Even when you gain some experience and know what you want, there are always newer, lighter, shinier options to lead you astray from the practical, budget-friendly course you set for yourself. Not so with Shimano's SH-WM34 Women's Cycling Shoes. With a decidedly economical price and a rugged, trail-ready construction, the SH-WM34 will get you out onto singletrack without a fuss.

Shimano crafts the durable uppers with a blend of synthetic leather and mesh panels, lending the shoes durability while making sure your feet are able to breathe during warm summer rides. The mesh is stretch-resistant too, so the shoes' secure, streamlined fit won't become a thing of the past after you take them on a few hard rides. The lace-up closure makes sure you'll get a secure fit and reliable power transfer while you spin the pedals, and an EVA midsole adds some cushion for the times you need to hop off your bike to walk through cliff-side rock gardens.

Underneath your foot, the SH-WM34's fiberglass-reinforced nylon sole gives you some rigidity, rating a four out of 12 on Shimano's stiffness scale, while the rubber lugs work with the EVA midsole to give you plenty of traction while you're hiking or walking.

  • A take-all-comers mountain bike and spin class shoe
  • Fitness aesthetics are gym-friendly
  • Sole is stiff for spinning but doesn't hinder walking
  • Lugs for traction on winter sidewalks and trails alike
  • Lace-up closure fits like your favorite trainers

Runs Small

Bought these in a 38.0 which is what most of my shoes are. Too Small, had to reorder in 39.0, which I have not gotten yet. I typically wear a 7.5-8.0 shoe and a 38.0 in European sizes. However, on the box it said US size was 6.5 and Eurpean was 38.0. Not sure if Shimano has a different than standard conversion.
