Zip out of T1.

While triathlon, especially ultras, are hard on bodies from head to toe, feet take the brunt of the force. The Shimano SH-TR32 Shoes are specifically designed to support feet during the bike portion, while being comfortable enough that the transition to the run is a piece of cake.

If you are not prepared, your race could be lost in transition. For this reason, the SH-TR32 shoes feature a large heel loop that is easy to grab to quickly don the shoe. A single hook-and-loop strap doubles back and secures away from the inside of the shoe. This allows you to clip the shoes into your pedals before the race so that in T1 you are able to make the running jump into them, start pedaling, and then tighten the strap — without getting your fingers caught in the spinning chainring. You gain valuable seconds with these simple tricks.

Shimano gave the TR32 shoes its Dynalast, ensuring that the fit is snug to reduce the possibility of hot spots. And the lightweight, fiberglass-reinforced polyamide sole transfers power to the pedals, without being so rigid that it causes numbness and discomfort. The upper of the TR32 is made of tough, stretch-resistant synthetic leather, and generous moisture-control mesh inserts provide plenty of breathability for hot summer days. Plush, seamless fabric lines the inside of the shoe to ensure sock-free comfort.

The Shimano SH-TR32 Shoes - Men's are compatible with three-bolt cleat designs, as well as two-bolt SPD pedals when paired with Shimano's SM-SH40 adapter. They come in whole sizes from 40 to 48.0 and in the color White.

Excellent Tri Shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 42

Wore these for the first time in my 8th Olympic distance tri. Very comfortable. Performed great. Nice technical features on strap to hold shoe open for easy entry in transition with shoes clipped in. Well ventilated. Excellent value.

Great shoe

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 47

Bought these as my first riding shoe and I love them. They're light, comfortable, and the 47 fits my size 12 feet perfectly. My first ride in them was about 10 miles and I forgot I had shoes on during the ride. I'm not sure how they compare to fancier shoes, but I definitely recommend these for beginners.

Shimano SHTR-32

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Pros - Comfortable shoe; I haven't felt the occasional numbness in my toes that I experienced with my prior shoes on any rides. Wore the shoes in a IM training and event and had no issues this year.

Cons - The velcro fastening strap is considerably too long. I had to cut the ends off the straps so they wouldn't hit or get caught up in the crank.

Overall. Good value in the shoe and I'll be wearing them for awhile. They feel lightweight and solid.
