This cutout also increases comfort by shifting the contact points to your sit bones, which are much better equipped to handle the weight without pain.

Selle Italia adds just a bit more padding to the Novus SuperFlow S Saddle than it does for the top-of-the-line SLR saddles, allowing it to maintain comfort across a wide range of cycling endeavors. The Selle Italia Novus SuperFlow S Saddle is available in a long, 137mm wide profile to provide a range of positioning options to riders of all levels and disciplines. Riders with wider sit bones may prefer the Novus SuperFlow L with its wider, 146mm stance.
