Crushing it.

Whether you're rocking a daily commute across town in business casual, heading out on a gravel adventure with the crew, or tackling your favorite local trail, crush it in style with the Scott Men's CRUS-R Shoes. With more casual styling than some of those other bright, aggressive, mountain shoes on the market, the CRUS-Rs look suspiciously like a normal, everyday shoe with stealthy technology.

Scott fashions the CRUS-R's upper from a mix of synthetic polyurethane and nylon mesh for a supportive yet breathable fit to keep feet comfortable and dry. The laced closure system looks casual, but it actually packs massive adjustability for a customized fit. Inside you'll find Scott's ErgoLogic removable insole with multiple arch support options for additional support tweaks.

Underfoot, Scott incorporates a fiberglass reinforced nylon co-injected sole for efficient power transfer while still allowing for a bit of flex for easy walking. A minimally lugged, walkable Sticki rubber outsole provides excellent grip off the bike for easy transitions over rocks or sauntering into the coffee shop for a post-ride pastry snack.

This is a setup review- will be using these for bikepack trips and will post a follow up in a few weeks. No tools required if you're only going to use these on platform pedals. For you platform people, the good news is the 'removable' section where the cleats will reside is an integral part of the sole and should hold up really well over time. If you want to toss on some SPD cleats be prepared to cut in to your new kicks. Just follow the outline of the black section with a sharp knife and use a flat blade scredriver or something similar to separate the rubber outer sole from the inner nylon plate.

Size wise, I wear a 43 Sidi Dominator as my all-around shoe which is maybe a 1/2 size large to accommodate swelling feet on all-day rides. Bought these in a 43 and they have a similar but slightly wider fit.

Very happy about the lycra lace garage for the closure system- runs the full width of the tongue and over an inch deep. Plenty of stretchy lace management for your corralling needs.
