Racing Ralph 27.5 Evo Tire

Whether used as a front tire for hardpack conditions, or as a rear tire for a more versatile setup, the Racing Ralph has developed quite the following amongst speed enthusiasts. And with the recent developments in mid-size wheels, we’re happy to offer you the Schwalbe Racing Ralph tire, this time in a 27.5 Evo flavor. By pairing a tread that's earned a cult following to a tubeless ready, reinforced carcass, Schwalbe has developed one of the fastest rolling tires around. But better yet, it's tough enough to take a beating.

The Racing Ralph has become a tried and true favorite due to its fast rolling tread pattern, and this third revision only improves on the classic. The centerline of the tire features low, tightly-spaced knobs knobs which provide excellent traction, and true to its name, help the Racing Ralph roll blisteringly fast. The sideknobs are wide and supportive, so they'll bite hard to keep you from washing out when you're leaned over. But tread patterns only tell part of the story. That's why Schwalbe uses its PaceStar rubber compounding, which places harder rubber down the centerline, for faster rolling and improved wear life. And the sideknobs get a softer rubber compound. In essence, you get the speed of a harder compound tire, mated to the cornering grip of a softer tire. That means that you don't have to sacrifice wear life for traction.

However, there's more to a tire than tread patterns alone. The Tubeless Ready designation indicates that these tires have an enlarged bead hook, while the Evo designation hints at a reinforced sidewall, which adds pinch-flat resistance. Both of those traits help the tire to seat without tubes, and to maintain a constant seal with the rim. Even better, a tubeless setup equates to reductions in both weight and rolling resistance. This way, you don't waste watts during your next ride.
