An impressive feat.

Schwalbe built the One Clincher Tire to be its ultimate race tire—a claim that was taken anything but lightly. And while it’s undoubtedly a tall order, thanks to a brand-new production facility that exclusively churns out tires using the OneStar rubber compound, this lofty goal has been reached. This tire is faster, grippier, and more durable than anything Schwalbe has produced before. Oh, and did we mention that it’s downright feathery as well?

Schwalbe used a new compound, OneStar, to achieve extremely low rolling resistance in the One tire. Manufacturing tires using this rubber compounding requires precise control over a number of variables during production. Accordingly, Schwalbe actually built a dedicated factory with fixed vulcanization and production units that are used exclusively for the One. In other words, there were absolutely zero corners cut when it came to produce the One. The OneStar triple compound was developed to have incredibly low rolling resistance. But unlike other high-efficiency tires, Schwalbe was actually able to improve grip in both wet and dry weather over its previous top tier rubber compound, while simultaneously improving cut resistance. And with weights as low as 205g per size, this is a tire that offers tangible benefits in nearly every measurable way, without the drawbacks commonly associated with super lightweight, grippy race tires.

The Schwalbe One Clincher Tire is available in either 23 or 25mm widths, and in the color Black.

  • Lightweight OneStar rubber compound
  • Improved grip in wet and dry conditions
  • Weights as low as 205g per size

Tacky

These are suuuuper tacky. I've taken them on some rough roads and I've taken a couple small chunks out of the rubber, but they've held strong and rail corners I wouldn't imagine on other tires I've used.

    The best racing tire

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

*Edit* Still my go to race tire. One weakness: they unclinch much easier than other tires. I have almost wrecked in two races only to pinch flat moments later because the tire has come unclinched. However, barring disaster these have good puncture resistance and grip and low rolling resistance so I'm still using them.

Without a doubt, these are the best racing tires I have used. I have put 1600 miles on my current pair of 25mm Schwalbe Ones without a single flat. This is incredible considering that it includes riding and racing in March and April when the Ohio roads were still covered in cinders and salt from all the snow. I am guessing that I will be able to squeeze 2000 miles out of my first pair, which is a lot more miles than I can usually get out of a non endurance/training tire. The tire rides phenomenally, with low rolling resistance, good road "feel," and great traction/cornering in the wet or dry. My previous go to tire was the 4000s, but I ended up buying these tires because I had 4 different 4000s II tires (won or purchased at different times both 23 and 25mm) fail on me with sidewall cuts (the tube would stick out of the hole). This tire rides just as well as the 4000s with much better flat protection. The flat protection is good enough that I trust this tire to train and race on in early Spring, whereas, in the past I would keep running my winter 4seasons tires until May because of flats from cinders (small, sharp rocks put down on country roads to increase grip in the snow). This is the best all around tire I have ever used. I plan to use it in all but the dead of winter. In winter I switch back to conti 4seasons for even more flat and sidewall protection at the price of much higher rolling resistance.

    Well rounded tire.

To me, this tire feels in between the thick comfy ride of the 4KGP and the sharp edge of the Michelin Pro4. The wear is as to be expected for a softer compound but it has a good solid ride. I have only put about 500 miles on them. All tires were compared with Vittoria Latex/ Cervelo S5.
