Get up to get down.

There are those among us who live for rough terrain, but pedal to earn their runs. If that sounds like you, Schwalbe had you in mind when designing the Big Betty Tubeless Tire. With an aggressive knob design and a reinforced tubeless casing, you get all of the security that you need on the way down, without needing a chairlift for the ride back up.

The distinctive tread pattern is part of what sets the Big Betty apart. The centerline of the tire features three types of alternating blocks. The majority of them are broad for excellent braking traction. And between each row of these paddle-shaped knobs are alternating square blocks for grip in loose terrain, and longer blocks for a blend grip when you're rolling fast. This combination of knob profiles provides a blend of low rolling-resistance, powerful braking control, and strong grip in loose dirt. The side knobs are aggressive and angled to provide maximum grip when your bike is leaned over into turns. So, you're able to push these tires surprisingly hard while still maintaining a controlled composure.

The tread pattern deserves much of the credit for the control provided by the Big Betty, but it wouldn't be possible without Schwalbe's PaceStar triple compound. Essentially, PaceStar means that the knobs in the center of the tire are harder than those found on the side knobs. And, not only does the harder center compound allow the Big Betty to roll surprisingly fast, but it also improves the durability as well. And since cornering traction is of the utmost importance, the side knobs are built from a softer rubber, which maximizes grip when you're at the edge of control.

Schwalbe's tubeless casing is employed for the construction of the Big Betty. Like you probably guessed, this means that the bead hooks are enlarged in order to ease the process of seating these tires to tubeless compatible rims. But, the benefits of Schwalbe's tubeless casing make a difference whether you're running tubes or not. The enlarged bead hook also helps to keep the tire on the rim under hard cornering, which is especially important to those who prefer lower tire pressures. And speaking of low pressure, the reinforced casing provides added flat resistance, as well as extra support. So, you're able to run these tires soft enough to provide tons of grip without the fear of either pinch flats or rolling the tire off of the rim.

The Schwalbe Big Betty Tubeless Tire is available in a 26x2.4in size and in the color Black. Please note that this tire is sold individually, and it does not include either tubeless tape or sealant.
