5010 Made Faster

Stellar trail manners and spritely handling have made the 5010 an undeniable standout, and that formula is refined with the latest iteration. The redesigned VPP suspension design borrows heavily from the Nomad, improving suspension action, and allowing for more responsive geometry, which makes the new 5010 even faster than its predecessor.

The Bronson Reborn

Since it's inception, the Bronson has been something of a standard bearer in the increasingly competitive 150mm trail bike market, and as expected, the V2 model zeroes in on the needs of aggressive trail riders. More supple suspension, paired with a firmer mid-stroke bumps its capabilities up a notch, without sacrificing playfulness. And the added inch or so of reach in the cockpit (depending on size) and steeper seat angle make for more comfortable climbing as well.

Substantial Improvements

The new suspension layout is visible at a glance, with a recessed lower link that's derived from the proven Nomad. It's paired with a Boost-spaced rear hub, and while the platform was developed for use with larger tires, the new 5010 employs it instead for the sake of shorter 16.7" chainstays. Paired roughly an inch of added reach, depending on size, as well as more standover, the new 5010 is more intuitive to ride, and more fun to boot.

Quiver of One

While the new 5010 is stiffer, faster, and arguably even more fun, the formula for this legendary trail bike remains thankfully unchanged. As ever, the suspension is tuned to be efficient and poppy, and it's paired with FOX's new EVOL air shocks, which boosts small bump sensitivity for an ideal blend of XC efficiency and slalom bike cornering speed. In other words, it's still a standout that's shockingly capable.

Welcome to the Future

With more aggressive geometry and shorter chainstays, the Bronson takes the potency of the new Nomad, and balances that all-out aggressiveness with a more playful spirit. Boost spacing out back allows for tighter 17" chainstays for quicker cornering, while enhancing cornering stiffness—an appreciable benefit for heavier, or more aggressive riders. And while its climbing manners have been improved significantly, it's still targeted at maximizing your enjoyment on chunky, technical trails.

The Perfect Balance

In a world of compromises, it's nice to see that the new Bronson makes so few of them. Its improved ascending abilities might make you think otherwise, but when you get it pointed back down, the aggressive cockpit and refined suspension feel, paired with FOX's new Evol air can, serve as a reminder that in this day and age, you really can have it all. Just like the original Bronson, this new generation looks to be the new standard in aggressive trail bikes.
