COMPETITIVE CYCLIST RACING TEAM EQUIPMENT
The Competitive Cyclist Racing Team may be domestically based, but it boasts a list of sponsors that makes even the top-ranked UCI ProTour teams cringe with envy. The Team rides the world's most advanced road racing frame, the Pinarello Dogma 2, which is built to mechanical perfection with the very best 10-speed mechanical shifting group, SRAM Red. In addition to this top-flight build, the Team rolls on Reynolds wheels designed by legendary aerodynamicist and composite materials guru, Paul Lew. Keeping those wheels rubber side down comes with the help of legendary Vittoria tubes, tires, and tubular glue. All the power generated by our Team's hearts, legs, and passion means nothing without control, and this is provided through their 3T cockpits. Speaking of power, all physiological and tele-metrics are delivered real time by the gold standard in data delivery, PowerTap by CycleOps. Assembly and maintenance of the Team's state-of-the-art machines requires the diligence and vigilance that only the most experienced mechanics can provide. Ensuring the Team's mechanics can build and work with loving attention and dedication are Feedback Sports work and truing stands, Lezyne tools, Motorex lubes, and Veloshine bike wipes.
The finest gear in the world means nothing without comfort and safety, and while the Team's sponsors build the most well-researched and well-designed cycling products on the planet, we all know the risks of bike racing. That's why our guys are kitted out with Catlike Whisper helmets: aside from providing the best head protection in the business, they also provide an unequaled level of comfort, cooling, and adjustability. Riding safely and reacting quickly demands clarity of vision and freedom from annoying discomfort, and for this the Team relies on Smith Optics, Selle San Marco saddles, DMT shoes, Giordana apparel, and Chamois Butt'r chamois cream.
Our riders' engines are efficient but enormous, so fueling them requires massive quantities of calories derived from healthy and immediately effective food sources. To that end, the Team relies on the diverse and extensively researched nutrition and hydration lines created by PowerBar. While riders can stuff their pockets and jerseys full of food, the same can't be said for liquids, so they rely on the innovative Clean Bottle water bottles, which are held tight as a death-grip by Arundel bottle cages. And, when they run low on food and liquids, or when they need on-the-fly mechanical assistance or advice from their DS, Gord Fraser, the Team gets back up from the super-effecient and dare we say eco-friendly luxury of Lexus 200 Hybrid support cars, generously provided by Luxus of South Atlanta, Ga.

It was a redemptive stage for Team Sky as their early tour hopes were ...read more
