Unlike the bulky design of a traditional trainer, the Virrata is ultralight with a zero-drop heel-forefoot offset and a highly flexible chassis. Feathery cushioning soaks up impact from the road, the close-fitting upper wraps around your foot like a glove, and the grippy outsole ensures steadfast traction anywhere on the road. Weighing in at just six-and-a-half ounces, the Virrata is for moderate-distance runners who want to feel light on their feet without sacrificing protection from the road.
Saucony's Natural series of minimalist, lightweight, and low-drop shoes features three other models: the Mirage 3, the Kinavara 3, and the Hattori LC. Compared to the Virrata, the Mirage is more responsive, the Kinvara offers more stability, and the Hattori is lighter and lower at the cost of support. All in all, the Virrata is the ideal balance of cushioning and support in an ultralight, zero-drop package.
