Better than ever.

Like yourself, the Saucony Ride shoes have been training hard over the last year as can be seen in the Women's PowerGrid Ride 8 Running Shoes. Now lighter than ever, and with a weight of 8.5 ounces, the Rides now feature the all-new Flexfilm upper, which delivers an even more responsive fit and feel, while keeping weight at a minimum. Maintaining much of the features that made the rides a flagship shoe for the company, the Powergrid midsole remains intact, giving the shoes that same smooth heel-to-toe feel that made their predecessors so popular. For increased foot protection, the SRC Impact Zone now runs into the midfoot, delivering rock solid protection for both the track and street. Since a shoe is only as dependable as its sole, Saucony kept the durable and reliable iBR+ sole system with XT-900 carbon rubber for enhanced longevity.

I've been a Saucony fan for a while, and usually run in lightweight, low-drop shoes. I was looking to replace my usual Kinvara's and Altras with a shoe that would get me through the winter with a little more support and cushioning after an injury. I didn't want something that would feel clunky, with a huge heel to toe drop, and the 8mm offset on the Rides has been perfect. It's far from clunky, and the cushioning feels great on longer runs without slowing me down on tempos and speed workouts. Its soft, but springy, and has held up through road runs, snowy runs, and with Yak Traks on technical trails with ice and snow. Definitely a solid shoe, and one with Saucony's traditional V-shaped fit. I love the wide toe box and snug heel, and the fit along the instep is very roomy too. I sized up a half size from my Altras for these, but I like a lot of space for my toes, so I wouldn't go so far as to say these run small, by running shoe standards. If you're looking for an all-around training shoe that fits a little wide in the toe box, I'd highly recommend these.
