Description

Get some dip for your chip.

Sharing namesake with the sleepy South Dakota singletrack mecca of Spearfish, the Salsa Spearfish 2 is built to gobble up mile after mile of pristine backcountry dirt ribbon. With a geometry optimized around all-day (or all-night) comfort and pedaling efficiency, the lightweight, EV6 aluminum Spearfish is designed to keep you balanced and stable, no matter what your legs might be telling you. That doesn't mean it's any slouch for fast cross-country races though, the tight and snappy rear end offers 80 millimeters of squish managed by the RockShox Monarch RT, and another hundred in the front running through the RockShox Reba RL. Salsa's unique pivot-sharing suspension system eliminates the need for a rear suspension pivot, thus reducing chassis weight and easing maintenance. This intelligent design leaves you with one less worry as you chase your singletrack high score into the wee hours of the morning.

  • Press-fit BB30 shaves grams and increases stiffness over a traditional threaded BB
  • Tapered head tube ups front-end stiffness to give you laser-like precision on the techiest trails

Is the fork on this bike a Reba as stated in the description? (The specs list the fork as a RockShox Monarch, which I believe is a misprint.)

Sweet bike, sweet price!

I'm at a loss for words... How about I just make a list of what I like and don't like.

Pros: Race geometry, lightweight, great components, awesome wheels, good price point, stunning colors and looks, maneuverability, good climbing, great descending.

Cons: Low bottom bracket

Sweet bike, sweet price!

I love this bike. From its bold and bright color to its upper end components, this bike has been a dream to ride.

This is my first experience riding a 29er, and I don't think I'll be going back again. This thing just rolls over obstacles that before I had to keep a constant sharp eye out for. The 29 inch rims don't make tight, narrow paths any more difficult. I haven't had any problems with the bigger wheels and sharp turn switchbacks.

I'm about 5'7" and the Small frame fits very well. Plus its super light, making it easy to throw on a bike rack or into the back of a truck.

After calibrating both shocks to my weight, this thing hits like a champ. Adjusting them on fly for different situations is a snap, making a quick uphill/downhill ride even quicker.

This is a great purchase for someone who wants to just buy and ride, not having to worry about swapping out components to make a really good bike. Its a great out-of-the-box setup and easy to tweak to your liking.

I'm really liking Salsa.
