What community has to say
seem good so far. excellent grip. just had them for a month
I am very happy with these but I must day that I have had to retighten the bar end plug more than once and am wondering what's going to happen when I tighten it all the way down. It's plastic and a better design or better materials may need to be used for the next gen. Other than that they are great. Comfortable, sturdy and well made (aside from the end).
These are awesome grips, they dont move and they feel like sap-covered-rubber-hand-holders. Follow the instructions through, once the srews are tight, then dont screw any further you'll strip your screws and hole. the cover also is really nice and secure and dosn't feel like it will come off. These are great for climbing, when you are in awakerd positions holding on to the handle bars while you power through a super steep section. Get theses if you want your hands to stay in place on the handle bar no matter what your doing.
These grips are very tacky and well worth the money, first time i have ever baught them and will be buying some for my other 2 bikes.
Salsa Juegos de Fuegos Lock-On Grip
Sick grips. Don't move at all have just enough cushion and have little peppers on them. What else would you need?
Didn't know what to think of all the hype around lock on grips. Know I know and knowing is half the battle. They really do make a difference in overall control and handle bar grip when sending it. I was reluctant to believe, now I am a true believer.
I actually haven't ridden with these grips yet, but they are definitely super grippy, and look like they will hold up well. A nice lock-on grip from Salsa, though I can't figure out whey they're called Juegos de Fuegos (fire games).
Yes sir, I like it!
Super grippy. Feels like that slime-in-a-jar that you used to play with when you were a kid... Well, I used to play with it anyway.

Are these red or pink? I like the way they look but can't tell from the picture
They are a tomato red
How are these when wet?
How are these when wet?
The lock on clamps will prevent your grips from spinning in wet weather. As far as the actual rubber compound that would depend on the temperature, your gloves, and how cold, numb, and wet you are.....and if you can still hold on to the bars.
I've had two pairs of the lock-ons and one pair of standard grips and really liked them for a wide range of riding. They are comfortable for the long rides and have really good grip when wet or dry. They do wear a bit quickly but that's a minor detail.
These are great grips for the money. They keep there grip when wet & after visible wear. I'm on my second pair (2 bikes) and will get these again for sure. Bottom Line: Great quantity & reliable design. It's Salsa, after all.
I've ridden with these grips 4 or 5 times and love them. Sweaty hands don't seem quite as bad on these as my previous stock grips. They definitely lock down tight too. My only complaint is about the bar ends that came with the grips - I couldn't get them tight enough to keep from coming out on their own. Past a certain point of tension, the screw just began to sink into the rubber of the end. Overall a good product.
i put these on back in june or so and have had no problems (somewhere in the area of 40 to 50 rides), in fact i love them and expect they will last longer than my stock grips. they were grippier and softer than expected, too, which was nice.
Does the come with plugs for the ends? Not...
Does the come with plugs for the ends? Not shown in photo.
Yes, they come with plugs and if you want an alternative, wine corks work excellent.
not bad at all
They are holding up wonderfully after at least 15 rides. The rings have plenty of room to clamp down tight on the bars. I didn't have any problems with the bolts stripping like I have had before. I will never go back to regular slide on grips. Must have for single speed.
Great Grips/Great Price
Very easy to install on my Jamis Dakar XLT. Feel much better then the stock grips that would slip when going uphill. Have about 20 rides on them and they are holding up great!
