Great for comfort!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size
  • Size Bought: 13

Love the fit and ease of putting these on with the adjustable lacings. Overall a great shoe although with wear they can slip on wet or oily smooth surfaces so use caution until you know how they react.

Wish I could return or exchange

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Do not buy these shoes if you expect to be ever stepping on wet surface, they are meant to skid.

Lamborghini's for your feet

These shoes are awesome. I have been wearing a bunch of other brands and have been fairly happy but once I put these on I was sold. They are super comfortable and really durable. I like the closure system. It is super easy and simple but holds well and gives great control. You would be crazy to second guess yourself on these shoes.

    Best shoes

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5

One of the most comfortable shoes I have ever put on. Absolutely no break-in period. I think part of the comfort is due to the massive lugs. They seem to cushion each step due to their size. They dig into the dirt and don't let go, giving me awesome traction in the back country whether I'm taking a run or donning a pack. Again, super comfy. Great buy. Have since bought them for 3 other people in my family, and it helped resolve my fathers plantar fasciitis.

    Great shoes

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love the shoes this is the second pair I have. They run true to size but are more narrow than most shoes which for me was great because I have a narrow foot the first shoe that actually fit me The way it was supposed to LOL. I had heard they require no breaking and I found that to be true first day out hiked 5 miles of beautiful trails here in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. I love the speed lace system snugs down tight becomes part of your foot. They dry quickly and give you traction like a mountain goat . These are the best pair of shoes I've ever owned for hiking and walking . I was like a lot of people worried about the small laces but after doing some searching online they are made of a Kevlar material so they're not going anywhere . I have heard others report that they wear out quickly if you wear them for every day use or on hard surfaces because of the soft soles but they are designed like a dirtbike tire as long as you use them in the proper setting they will hold up great . I'm very happy with my purchase and plan on buying other salmon products in the future

     Great shoes

    My second pair

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I quickly wore out my old pair because I wore them all the time not just for running. These are some of the most comfortable shoes i've ever had!

    Comfy but slippery

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: 12.5

Very comfortable and obviously very light. Have only had them a few days and still in the process of breaking them in so I haven't been able to get on trail yet. One thing I have noticed though, as another reviewer mentioned, is that they are EXTREMELY slippery on wet, smooth surfaces (so far just concrete) unlike any type of running shoe, water shoe, or sandal I've ever had. Hopefully they'll be better on wet rocks but I'm a bit skeptical about it considering that they're like ice skates on the sidewalk. Since the tread is like a dirt bike tire I'm sure they'll be excellent in dirt, sand, small loose rock, etc., but if there are sections of larger smooth rock that are wet it could be a little treacherous, especially if you're running/racing in them. Also, I usually wear an 11.5 and occasionally a 12 and needed a 12.5 in these, and they're on the narrow side but seem okay for my D width and will prob spread out a little with usage.

    Great shoes (so i hear)

Bought these as a early fathers day gift for my dad who has bought several other pairs of almost this same shoe. Raves about how comfortable and durable these shoes are. All and all loves them!

      Love these shoes!

If you want traction, easy clean up and fast break in time this is the shoe for you. I have a pair for every day, hiking then trail running.
A few things I was a little worried about.
-Low cut, ankle support. But the shoes get such great traction I don't have ankle roll like other shoes that slip around.
-small laces. They look weak. But as of yet (4 pair) I have never had one break.
They dry fast, don't stain. ( black or camo)
I have yet to have a defect or have them come apart. The treat is soft so if you run on a track or blacktop they will wear really fast.
They do run narrow but I like that.
Iv noticed I get alot more traction than most when doing mud runs....
I don't think you will be disappointed!

      Badass Shoe!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I wasn't planning on spending the money for these shoes... however, glad I did because they are so rad! I hardly ever rate anything a 5 star and these have done just that. I upsized by half a size and it was a perfect call. First day I worn them I hiked 10+ miles through sand and stone (Arches) with no issues other than a little cramp in the ball of my foot towards the end of my last hike. Get these, you will not be sorry!

      one of my fav's

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have done a fair amount of hiking and trail running on these and would put them in the top of my favorite trail shoes. The sole is pretty aggresive and grippy and were great for a run/scramble we recently did over some bouldery areas. The fit was right on with what I wear in most shoes. I give the speedcross 3 a thumbs up.

      Great shoe with limited lifespan

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

I love the grip, feel and flexibility of this shoe. The tread makes for great running on any trail. Ran 2 5K's in muddy wet conditions with no slips. The tread however does not last forever even if you only run off-road. I logged just over 53 miles and probably 50 more that I haven't and I'd say I have about 20% tread left. That being said I still love these shoes and they still step great.

In a nutshell. 100+ miles, all in the dirt, 20% tread left.

      Great shoe with limited lifespan

      Love these!

These shoes are great. They fit and look awesome. I always get asked about them whenever I wear them.

A shoe that wont stop..until you do

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 10.5

These shoes fit true to size..but kinda stretch a touch after a while.. I bought these as a replacement to my normal running shoes while I was in El Paso / Fort Bliss. Can't Beat the Grip these shoes provide on sandy / dirt trails around the base. The shoes provided more cushion that I was used to, but that's not a bad thing. the quick lace system never failed on me or broke at any time and they are still going strong. the only negative I can say is don't run on pavement / roads. The sole wore out kinda fast when I did have to run on those surfaces.

      Great for trail running

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs small

Great shoes for running & hiking in loose dirt, mud, rocks, scree, talus, etc. These have a lot of padding around the ankle, great upper stability, and surprisingly good proprioceptive feedback/ground feel. I will definitely repurchase when these wear out.

      Minor complaints:

      1) They run slightly small, mostly because the toe box is narrow. I rarely wear socks with these and all my toes make contact. They'd definitely run noticeably small with thick socks.

      2) Not the most breathable shoe.

      3) The rubber soles are far too soft for daily wear around urban environments... clearly they aren't made for that, however.

      Great lightweight offroad shoe

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 46 Euro

These are great lightweight offroad running shoes - which is exactly what they're built for. I've run and hiked in them through muddy and slippery conditions and they have been great.
They do have a lightweight sole and I have noticed that I get sore feet if running/ walking over particularly rocky terrain as these dont have the same level of protection underfoot as say the heavier XA Pro's - but they are a lot heavier.
I will definitely buy another pair of these shoes in the future.

2nd pair of these dependable work horses

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 11

Im on my 2nd pair of these. I pull them out of the closet anytime I plan on hitting the trail, wether im running, hiking, backpacking. They dont do so well on rock as approach shoes, but thats ok. At least im comfortable when im falling on my face on the way to the crag. beyond that, no gripes and will continue to buy them for a long time.

      First Trail Runner

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are my first trail running specific shoes. So far I have been pleased. They are definitely a little lose in the heel compared to your typical runner. The 12 was a little snug on the sides of the toe box. I spoke to someone at Salomon and they confirmed there would be a little lateral stretch in the material. I was nervous how they would feel after running a while, and if they would be too tight once foot swelling took over. So far so good.

Overall I am happy with them. Depending on how they hold up, will be the deciding factor as to whether the next pair are the same.

      3rd pair

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 11

Love these shoes. I have a lower arch on one foot which created chaffing in the inserts. I cut away some of the foam and they work perfect.
