Great, supportive calf sleeve
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:True to size
I really enjoy using this calf compression sleeve from Salomon. I use it for trail running and obstacle racing. In my opinion, the Exo compression sleeve offers a lot of support and is very durable. The sizing is very important since this calf sleeve gives a little but is really meant to be a precise fit. My calf muscles don't feel as sore when using these and unlike other brands, they stay in place and the technology really seems to work . As for obstacle racing, they are great in that they not only help your calf muscles but also protect your legs on various rope activities. I recently finished a race and thought for sure I shredded them on the rope, but much to my surprise, they looked like they didn't even get a scratch on them. I highly recommend these by Salomon and I think they are well worth the price.
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:True to size
These were my first pair of compression sleeves, so I don't have much to compare them to. I do really enjoy having them, either for colder mornings or increasing comfort in the upper miles of a trip/race.
Sizing is a little confusing, but once you take the measurements they ARE accurate on the sizing charts that salomon has. Also please listen to the tags and don't put these on unless you are wearing socks! I nearly snapped my ankle my first attempt to slide these on. Socks make it much easier.
Do these come in a pair or is it just a single sleeve?
I don't have these, but this sort of thing usually comes as a pair... and the price seems to indicate that.
David is correct!
These are sold in pairs.
Multi Function / Sizing
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:True to size
Compression sleeves have come in handy many times for me. On those brisk days were I need a little more coverage than just shorts, on long runs when I need a little more muscle support or evenI love putting them on after a hard day to aid in recovery.
I would measure your calfs and a good size chart to use...
11.4" - 12.2" = 1
12.6" - 13.4" = 2
13.7" - 14.2"=3
14.5" - 15" = 4
15.4" - 16.2" = 5
16.5" - 17.4" = 6
*Measure in inches around fullest part of calf; if between sizes it is recommend sizing down
What gives on sizing? The sizing chart...
What gives on sizing? The sizing chart is in terms of S - XL, but the size options for ordering are 1 - 7. What's the translation?
Go by the measurements in the size chart and use 1 = extra small and 7 = XXL. Based on Salomon's website, this seems to be how it is laid out.
