The future is now.

Some might argue that Press Fit 30 is the way of the future. And after witnessing the recent renaissance of bottom bracket designs, we can at least declare it nouveau, if not futuristic. So, if you're seeking to upgrade to and engage with Press Fit 30, the Rotor Press Fit 4624 Bottom Bracket is the logical starting point.

This bottom bracket features sealed stainless steel bearings in order to minimize mechanical drag. Accordingly, your rolling resistance is lower, and thus your pedaling efforts are more efficient. The cups are made from a lightweight and durable aluminum, and the whole system tips the scales at around 144 grams.

The Rotor Press Fit 4624 Bottom Bracket is available in the color Black and accommodates a 24mm axle diameter.

  • For use with 24mm-spindle cranks and PressFit 30 bottom brackets
  • Stainless steel bearings
  • Aluminum construction

Will the rotor press fit 4624 bottom bracket work on the air 9 carbon frame I just purchased from your site. Also what front shimano xt or xtr double derailler will work with this bike?

Thank you

This will work with that frame and any 24mm spindles. For the derailleur, you will need a 34.9 clamp on traditional pull for double.

I'm looking to run Shimano cranks in a Cervelo R3 w/ their "bbright" bottom bracket shell. Will this bb work for me?

Best Answer

Hello, this is the right fit with your Cervelo R3 and Shimano crankset. From Cervelo themselves "For Shimano & compatible cranks, use Rotor 4624 BBright bottom bracket (as shown in the Shimano selection in our pictures), or Wheels adapters in BBright's 30mm bearings.

So it turns out this is not the right version of the Rotor BB for a BBright frame. The bottom bracket listed here is the "regular" 4624 road, which works on frames with a 68mm bb shell: i.e., it will allow you to run cranks with 24 mm spindles, like Shimano, in PF30 frames.

Cervelo's BBright standard actually has a 79mm bb shell, and uses a different type of cup on the non-drive side. The Rotor part for this is "4624L".

Wrong picture of bb30 shimano road

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Is the picture of the bb30 shimano road wrong? looks to me wrong

I want to know, cause when i pick from the options for shimano road, apears bbright option. Need shimano standar 4624, do you have it?

I have a 2013 Salsa Warbird, I want to run a set of Carbon Bontrager Cranks designed for external bearings with this frameset. Will this PF BB work for this application?

This BB is for an PF30 frame. It looks like the warbird is a BB86 frame so this won't work. Bontrager has made many many different cranks with many different BB standards so without taking it apart and taking many measurements, its impossible to tell exactly what it needs IF and ONLY IF your crank works with standard shimano BBs, then you need item SHI0513.

I think that mcm.43 is correct. This not the BB for a Cervelo! I ordered one, since I was assured that it was, and am getting concerned the CC wasted my time with bad information. I am really hoping this is NOT the case. I asked repeatedly if the BB that I ordered would work with Cervelo R3 2015 and GXP (Quarq Elsa RS GXP) via chat and was repeatedly assured that it would work. It does not look like the 4624 pictured at the Rotor site. And the Cervelo apparently requires the L version.
