With the same innovative thinking that's continuously kept Rotor at the forefront of crankset and chainring technology, its new BB30-24 Converter Ceramic Bottom Bracket has once again proven that a little creativity often yields exceptional results.

With the new BB30-24 converter, Rotor makes it possible to install a conventional 24mm spindle diameter in BB30 frames. It uses Enduro ceramic hybrid cartridge bearings for smooth turning cranks and no wasted effort. They're the same 6906 bearings as a BB30 or PressFit 30 bottom bracket system. Rotor's new, non-contact labyrinth seals were also added, providing both a silky-smooth feel and unparalleled protection against dust, water, and mud.

Rotor also thought to improve the plastic caps that snap into the bearings. We often call them dust caps, but they have a structural place in the bottom bracket system, providing a bit of compressive relief in the slip fit between the spindle and the inside diameter of the bearings.

The Rotor BB30-24 Converter Ceramic Bottom Bracket is available in the colors Black/black and Red/red. It will fit all BB30 frames, and is compatible with cranksets using 24mm spindles.

Superb Product

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Like so many others, I have experienced the BB30 blues: a squeaky, creaky, snap-crackle-pop bottom bracket, so poorly designed that it must be cleaned and re-lubed every 300 miles of use. Rotor's converter solves the problem. The only criticisms I have of it are that there is a slight weight penalty compared to the original BB30 and the pretty anodized surface mars easily upon first installation and removal. Using an aluminum removal tool (e.g. the one made by Chris King) helps minimize the marring. Otherwise, a great product. One correction to the above description: the bearing are 6905s, not 6906s.
