Race-oriented, trail ready.

RockShox’s Sid line has always been an XC-first fork, but at 120mm, with a 15mm thru-axle, and RockShox’s new RCT3 damper, it starts to look like an XC-inspired trail fork. It also makes use of the RockShox Power Bulges in the magnesium lowers to increase stiffness, delivering a much more precise ride than its 32mm stanchions would suggest.

This stiffness is backed up by RockShox’s RCT3 damper; with locked out, trail-tuned, and fully open options, you can hammer up the climbs, and still keep the pack away on the descents.

  • RCT3 damper
  • Maxle Lite 15mm thru-axle
  • 32mm stanchions

Here's what others have to say...

My bike came from the factory with a 1 1/8" steer tube (not tapered). Do I need to change my headset to upgrade to a fork like this one? Is there anything else that would need to be converted?

Responded on

unfortunately there is nothing you can do to make a frame that is 1 1/8 straight fit a tappered steer tube.... I am sorry!

Great Shock!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Wonderful great shock, extremely light, lightest one I could find as a matter of fact. Absorbs every bump on the trail, love this shock.

I'm thinking about switching my Jet9 RDO to a trail'ish bike. I'd like to put a 120mm fork on it. Any reviews I should know about?

Responded on

Hope this isn't too late of a response to help. I have the Jet RDO with the Rockshox RCT3 SID Solo Air 120mm. I have found the fork to be great on flowing trails with occasional technical sections. Here in Colorado the trails have longer sections of technical riding and this is where the shock is lacking. Despite all different settings it responds with a rubbery, bouncing, too light feeling. I liked the weight and increased travel but not this particular forks handling. Yes on the 120 just not this fork if you ride/race similar type trails.
