Simple, light, and strong. That's what sums up RockShox's 140mm-travel 29in Pike RCT3 Fork with the Solo Air spring, and it wouldn't be possible without its 35mm stanchions or the RCT3 damper residing in its right leg.

Unlike the competition, with RCT3 you're not limited to factory low-speed compression settings without playing doctor. The Charger damper also gives you three easy-to-use instant compression settings from open, trail-tuned, and completely locked out. This lets you quickly and intuitively tune the fork sans a PhD in suspension.

On the opposite side of the Pike, resides a Solo Air spring. This, when compared to the Dual Position Air spring, means no travel adjust, but a slightly lighter (just over 50g), less complicated fork. If you're able to forgo the up-and-down, you'll not only enjoy longer service intervals, but also less static friction and lower un-sprung weight. In other words, this equates to greater overall smoothness.

The RockShox Pike RCT3 29in 140mm Solo Air Fork has a tapered steerer tube, and it uses a post mount brake interface. It's available in the color Black, and it has a 15mm Maxle Lite axle.

Please note that a shock pump is not included with this fork.

Do I want the 51mm offset for a Tallboy LT Carbon?

Does the 51mm offset makes the head angle more slack? If yes, I don't think I want it. I want more of an XC/switchback/woods ride. Not so much descending here in the midwest....

That is a great question. The 51mm offset is a good choice for anyone that is looking for a quicker-handling bike. In fact, 51mm offset forks are standard spec on a lot of other brands and helps to give you an xc type feel. if you’re looking for help on placing that order. I would be more than happy to help. I believe the standard Fox forks that come on Tallboy LT's are 51mm, I am trying to decide which offset pike I want as well.

What is the offset, on these?

These come in both offests. Standard (46mm) and extended (51mm). You'll choose this in the options when you check out. We have both. My number here is 801-736-6396 x 5630 or email

Isn't the 51 mm preferred for a relatively slack 29er like a Yeti SB95?

How much would it cost to get the Pike to 130mm?

The 130 option can be made by reducing the 140 with srams part number 11.4018.026.000. Retail is $39. We can special order. If you want to call me I can help enter the order for both and we can install before shipping. Plan on 2-3 turnaround

Can the Pike 29" be lowered to 130 mm travel? I do a lot of climbing and 130 mm is plenty for me and need the lower front end height.

To lower these forks, you'll need an air cartridge we can special order. We can definitely install before shipping but it will take a little while to special order.

Another option is the dual air fork. Its adjustable 150-110mm of travel on the fly.

Let me know if you're interested and I can get the order/conversion put together. My number here is 801-736-6396 x 5630 or email

Adam, I am considering this fork with the travel reduced to 120mm for my Tallboy C. What do you recommend? I weigh 220 and was looking for a fork with bigger stanchions to help make the bike track a little more true. Would it make more sense to go with stiffer carbon wheels and keep my 32mm Fox Float?

I want one on every one of my bikes.

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The day before you ride the Pike, you'll say to yourself (regarding whatever fork you're riding at the moment) "this fork I have right here is SO awesome!"

Then you ride the Pike, and hop back on your previously SO awesome fork...and think "this fork I've been riding is SO much less awesome than the Pike."

Seriously, so plush, the air volume reducers are great for ramping up the spring rate and keeping the bottom soft and supple, and its still so light that there's really no reason to not ride it all of the time, no matter the terrain.

Jason, can the pike be installed on a Jet9 RDO?

Feldy - yes! I have run a 120 and 130m Pike on my Jet 9 RDO and never put my Sid back on. I highly recommend this fork on the Jet 9.

jason- you riding a 46 or 51 offset on your jet 9?

Schaffor - It was a 51. I'm not sure really which would be better, or if I would have known the difference, either way.

Best on the Market

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have the 29" 140mm black 51mm offset version. This is paired to a Yeti SB95c and the fork continues to amaze me. I have approx. 400 miles on the fork and this Pike is much more linear, doesn't creek, and doesn't get sticky like several Fox 32/34's Ive had. It also has a much better feel than the two Rebas and SID Motion Control/Dual Air forks I've had.

The best thing you can do is demo a bike with a Pike and witness it for yourself.
