The Oval Concepts R950 carbon fiber handlebar has a balance of lightness, strength and safety unlike any other carbon bar on the market. Its seamless 1000K carbon fiber construction gives it a feathery weight of 180g, while providing the stiffness and shock absorption unique to top-dollar carbon bars. In our minds the R950 stands apart from its competition for two reasons: (1) Safety. The R950 is built with what Oval refers to as an integrated Kevlar "Airbag", lending it a critical element of protection against catastrophic failures. (2) Ergonomics. Oval uses an ergonomic "R50" bend on the R950, referring to the 50mm radius of the bar bend. It gives you 15% added hand room on the tops of the bars, while bringing the levers closer to your hands for easier braking and shifting. The 150mm drop and 84mm reach feel perfect no matter your hand position -- tops, hoods, or drops.

The R950 is double-grooved, making it ideally suited for cabling Campy, SRAM, or Shimano levers. Beyond this, you'll appreciate Oval's use of "RCT" Rough Clamp Technology at the stem clamp and lever clamp areas. When you bolt down your stem and levers they won't migrate on the surface of the bar during the tightening process -- a mechanic's regular nightmare on other carbon bars built with slick clear coat throughout the length of the bar.
