There was once a time when determining headset compatibility was a simple thing -- it was threaded or unthreaded; 1" or 1-1/8". With the advent of integrated headsets and proprietary cup designs and the like we're all facing one big problem: There is NO standard when it comes to bearing, race, or cup dimensions. Saying that you have a 1-1/8" integrated headset isn't adequate, because there are countless specs for this design based on your frame brand. You could set 3 different brand frames next to each other -- all with 1-1/8" integrated designs -- and it's quite possible that none of the 3 will have any headset compatibility. None of the component pieces of the headset will be interchangeable with the other.
