Getting to ride the same exact equipment as the pros is one of the coolest things about high-end road bikes. You dig Team CSC? We'll sell you an R3 identical to the one Fabian Cancellara then Stuart O'Grady used to dominate Paris-Roubaix. You like Caisse d'Epargne? We can build up the exact Pinarello Paris Carbon ridden by Alejandro Valverde to win the overall ProTour title. Who doesn't admire Alessandro Petacchi? We can set you up on a Team Milram Colnago Extreme Power.
We take the team gear dynamic to the next level with our Power Tap SL 2.4 wireless upgraded to ceramic bearings & built on a Zipp rim. It's the exact hopped-up wheel used by Team Phonak throughout the 2006 Tour de France. Not only did they have the advantage of racing with power data throughout le Tour, not only did they get the weight and aero advantages of racing on Zipp rims, but they had an extra edge thanks to the fact that Cycelops retrofitted their Power Taps with ceramic bearings. This ceramic upgrade was never an option for the general public -- that is, until now.
On this wheel, we replace the 4 stock hub bearings with Grade 5 ceramic bearings. Grade 5 bearings are the finest available in the marketplace, round to a tolerance of 1 5-millionth of an inch. Otherwise, it's a stock Power Tap wireless 2.4. You get all of the technical benefits and accoutrements of the 2.4, including the Power Tuned Agent 7.0 Software (Mac and PC compatible), computer head and harness and the USB interface so you can download the data from your handlebar-mounted cpu to your desktop.
We build our Power Tap SL/Zipp wheels out of the 24 hole version of the SL 2.4 hub with Sapim CX-Ray spokes. CX-Ray spokes are made from high-tensile stainless steel. On the one hand they offer supreme corrosion-resistance and fatigue-proofness, but on the other hand they're as feathery light as Ti spokes. Best of all is their aerodynamics -- their bladed profile accentuates the wind-cheating advantages inherent to a Zipp rim. We offer every Zipp rim option -- all the way from the climbing-minded 202 to the aerodynamic delight of the 808. We also offer your choice of tubular or clincher.
