From a materials standpoint, the Centaur QS derailleur is a twin to the 2003 Record front derailleur, with a lightweight pivot and the distinctive anti-friction techno-polymer insert at the front of the outer plate. It's shaped differently for 2008 with the same standardized design as Record and Chorus: It's compatible with both 53/39 and 50/34 Campy cranksets. In addition, it gets a new body and a new inner plate design to improve shifting performance. The derailleur as a whole is more rigid, which gives notably superior shifting when you go from the small ring to the big ring.
The braze on version requires 7Nm to fasten the derailleur to your frame. The clamp-on version requires 5Nm. It weighs 90g for the braze on version. Available in Braze-on, 31.8mm, and 34.9mm. If you have a steel frame that requires a 28.6mm clamp, you'll need to choose the Braze-on style and purchase a 28.6mm clamp separately.
