The Arundel Gecko Grip handlebar tape offers the one-and-only possible qualitative improvement over cork tape: While it has the same cushy feel of Arundel cork, instead of cork you get tiny square indentations in the tape. These indentations have the effect of creating a bit of added "stiction" between the tape and your hands. It feels just a bit more grippy than cork, which is especially nice in the summertime when your hands are super-sweaty. One other thing we like about Gecko Grip tape is that Arundel logos are understated since they're the same color as the tape, and instead of being inked on the tape (the way it's done with Cork), they're impressed into the tape in the same fashion as the squares. One technical note: Gecko Grip isn't a stretchy length-wise as cork. If you're installing it on wing-style bars, it probably won't be long enough to make it all the way up next to the stem. We know many people with wing bars who don't wrap that far anyways. But if you like wing bars and you like a full wrap, you should probably choose Arundel cork tape instead.
