The Chorus front derailleur comes with the same anti-friction nickel-plating treatment as the Record version. The central difference between the Chorus and the Record, in fact, is that the Record uses a carbon fiber outer plate, while the Chorus uses an alloy outer plate - a penalty of a whopping 5g!

New for 2007 is its metamorphosis to Campy's new Quick Shift (QS) design. The outer cage is longer to complement the change in Ergopower shifters for 2007 -- you can achieve front shifts more quickly with a lighter touch to the lever than in the past. Please note, however, that the QS front derailleur is compatible with pre-2007 Ergopower levers, though shifting between chainrings will require at least two lever pushes. Conversely, you can use a pre-2007 front derailleur with a 2007 QS Ergopower lever, though it will require a higher force to shift.

The braze on version requires 7Nm to fasten the derailleur to your frame. The clamp-on version requires 5Nm. The Chorus QS is 85g for the braze on version.
