The proCOOL short sleeve base layer, also known as the proCOOL T base layer, gets a thorough re-design here. You wouldn't think Craft would feel compelled to go through such an effort -- after all, they own the base layer marketplace with the sort of authority Sidi has with shoes and Giro with helmets. But they felt that their base layers needed some nip and tuck work to their ergonomics, so a face lift is exactly what they got.

The purpose of proCOOL goes unchanged: It's your ideal base layer choice from temperatures ranging from 50-90 degrees. Its versatility is rooted in the engineering of the fabric. proCOOL is a continuous hexachannel filament -- meaning that each fiber has six channels -- made to pull perspiration off your body at a torrid rate when you're sweating on a hot day. What's interesting, though, is the fact that the channels are hollow, so on cooler days warm air gets trapped inside the channels, allowing you to retain body heat. It's magical stuff.

The new generation of proCOOL is different in its ergonomics. Craft has gone to what they call 3D cutting lines. You won't see any straight seams on the proCOOL T. The panels and seams are curved identically to the shape of a cyclist reaching for the handlebars. Unlike other base layers that make you feel like you're squeezing into a mesh tube, the proCOOL T complements the curvature of your torso and arms. The comfort difference is evident as soon you start pedaling.

proCOOL has gotten lighter, too. It's 30% lighter, and tangibly softer, than previous generations. You get standard proCOOL on the front and rear portions of the T, and lighter mesh proCOOL panels on the side and portions of the back. Available in White in sizes Small-XXL.
