Kappa sweatshirts first hit the Euro cycling scene way back in the fall of 2004 when Damiano Cunego was interviewed in every relevant cycling publication worldwide in his red Kappa sweatshirt that said "SAECO" in enormous letters across the chest along with an Italian flag and a Cannondale logo on the sleeves. He looked warm, comfy, and quite stylish, and interest in that sweatshirt hit the roof as soon as the magazines with the Cunego interviews hit the stands.
Descente knows a good thing when they see it -- and they've put their own spin on Kappa's design. Instead of Cunego, think Cancellara, Zabriskie, or Schleck. And instead of (the now defunct) Saeco team, you get the ProTour equivalent of the New York Yankees: Team CSC. It comes in your choice of Black or White, with "CSC" written across the chest in bold letters. You get the Riis Cycling eagle logo on the left breast and the Descente logo on the right. Your right sleeve has "Team CSC" spelled out on it, and the left sleeve has the legendary Descente Spirit logo. The collar is subtly trimmed in colored bands that handsomely match the CSC logo on the chest, along with the same trim on the wrists.
This jacket has a fairly heavy weight and a high neck line (the collar goes above your Adam's Apple) with a full zipper and two pockets. The neck, wrists, and waist have a touch of elasticity to keep the fit somewhat snug in a Euro way. The 100% 24oz. cotton fleece interior keeps it deliciously comfy. Available in sizes X-Small-XX-Large.
