Just what is so alluring about track cycling? The lack of accoutrements like cassettes, multiple chainrings, brakes, levers, shifters, and derailleurs means that there is nothing impeding (nor assisting) your own personal responsibility for making yourself go. Other than the body of the bike, the wheels on which it rolls, and the most simple and efficient transmission ever developed there is you and the power you generate; there could be no more simple form of rapid human powered transportation. The track bike is essential, it is elemental, it is beautiful in its striking and obvious simplicity and efficiency, and it is one of the ultimate expressions of human brilliance.

We've always admired Ockham's Razor: Entities must not be multiplied beyond necessity. We think it's applicable to an aesthetic appreciation of the bicycle. The Bianchi Super Pista, just like the very sport of track racing, is the ultimate expression of this bicycling economy. Other than the retro Bianchi script on the seat tube and the mandatory head tube Bianchi emblem, the Super Pista frameset boasts no other embellishments. It is constructed of double-butted 7005 aluminum alloy using Bianchi's MegaPro oversized and elliptical top and down tubes. It also boasts massive chainstays for unparalleled stiffness and maximum power transfer. It's an unadorned tool for a straightforward job.

The Super Pista frameset comes with Bianchi's Dynamic F-04 Alucarbon fork which has a 1 1/8" aluminum steer tube mated to carbon blades with aluminum dropouts. The fork is pre-drilled for a front brake should you choose to turn this elegant track frame into your everyday single speed. The Super Pista comes in seven sizes (49, 51, 53, 55, 57, 59, 61). The rear dropouts have replaceable stainless steel sleeves for improved axle grip. And, just like the Model T, you can have your Bianchi Super Pista in any color so long as it’s black.
