RIDLEY SUPERCROSS/SRAM FORCE COMPLETE CYCLOCROSS BIKE
This Ridley Supercross is fully equipped with 2008 SRAM Force components with carbon fiber galore, including Doubletap shift levers and the compact (50/34) Force crankset. It's SRAM Force through-and-through, with Avid Shorty 4 cantilever brakes. Other highlights include an FSA handlebar, stem, and seatpost. We use the Selle Italia C2 Gel Flow saddle, as well as Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels. What will astound you is the value here: At $2,199 you get an indisputably pro-quality CX race bike. Just thread on your pedals and you'll be at home on the start line. Keep in mind that the regular retail price of this bike is nearly $4,000. But since we cleaned out Ridley of their remaining inventory of the Supercross, we can offer you savings that'll blow you away. Virtually every other CX bike in the ~$2,000 price range comes equipped with SRAM Rival, and it certainly won't have the storied race pedigree of the Supercross. If you're looking for a throw down CX race bike -- or just for a really nice rain/commuter bike -- look no further.
No company has a closer association with the black art of cyclocross than Ridley. They're Belgium's best-known, best-loved bike brand, and no country is more serious about their 'cross than Belgium. More 'cross races of note have been won on Ridleys in the last 5 years than every other bike brand combined. Countlesscyclocross World Championships have been won on Ridleys, and 4 straight were won on the Ridley Supercross. When you're looking for supreme performance from your 'cross bike without shattering your bank account, no bike delivers more than the Supercross.
The heart and soul of the Supercross is its featherlight scandium tubeset. The incorporation of scandium into the base aluminum alloy of the Supercross enables Ridley to build it with ultra-thin wall thickness without compromising its impact strength or longevity. At a weight of 1.35kg, you end up with a frame weight that rivals what you get in the monocoque carbon X-Night 'cross frame, not to mention esteemed road racing frames like the Colnago C50. Sub-1400g for a 'cross frame is astonishing, and when you combine it with the fact that scandium is also widely loved for the fact that it provides a smoother ride than any other aluminum alloy on the market, it's proof of why the Supercross is the standard against which all other alloy 'cross frames are measured.
The Supercross is available in even sizes from 48cm-60cm. One superb detail of the Supercross is its Ridley Python carbon fiber 'cross fork -- the most respected fork in the 'cross marketplace, and one you'll see on countless brands of pro bikes. It has a stiffness and lightness that mirrors the qualities you get from the Supercross itself, and it allows the Supercross to track through technical courses (at both low and high speeds) with unmatched precision. A true CX frame by design, the Supercross does not come with water bottle bosses, but we will install them by request for no additional charge. It also comes with an FSA integrated 1-1/8" headset. It requires a 31.6mm seatpost, a 34.9mm front derailleur. It has a 5-year warranty from manufacturing defect.
