A work of art

Purchased this bike a month ago and very pleased with it. Put about 250 miles on it, mainly hills around N California and its proved comfortable, fast and able to climb. The matte black finish is unusual and makes the bike stand out. The bike was delivered with in 7 business days and was shipped in a large box fully assembled, even the handle bars and seat were set up...just added pedals and topped up the tires and set off for a ride. Looks great on the road and in the garage...a work of art.

Solid and Comfortable

I purchased the Flandrien after much research and feel like it was a solid choice. It is my first road bike, so I do not have too much to compare to other than the rental bikes I used in Europe (Specialized and Cannondale). I will tell you that I was happy to be back on the Flandrien after riding something different. The frame is solid and is very compliant. The product description provided is true to form, this bike is great on every type of road. The Ultegra gruppo is super reliable.

I'm 6'0" and purchased the large frame. I was a little stretched out with the longer stem that came stock on the bike so I ended up replacing the 120mm with a 100mm which made it perfect. I will plan on upgrading the wheel set next year but the stock 4ZA wheels get the job done. The stock cassette is a 12x25 which is a bit much if you plan on doing a bunch of climbing. I plan on changing out the cassette for better gearing for climbing or getting a compact double. Overall, the bike has been very solid and the aesthetics are tough to beat. Great value.

Ridley is Belgium

I have now raced on this bike for the last month in Utah. It is a comfortable ride with enough stiffness to keep the handling sharp. I have used it for climbing, superb, feather light. I used it for our "Hell of the North" over a nasty section of dirt/gravel. It absorbed much of the difficulties on the road well. It is stiff enough for crits, light enough to climb. The position is a bit more relaxed than other more aggressive geometries. Out-of-the-box build is great. Ultegra throughout.

One of the best bikes for the money. One of the best frames I have been on period. I should also mention that I am coming from a custom titanium frame. No hiccups in getting the medium to fit perfectly. I am 5'10".

RealCyclist did a great job on customer service too.

OK a view from across the pond. Picked up my Excalibur Flandrien a couple of weeks ago. Due to a problem my LBS had with getting my Ridley Orion Ultegra Special Edition I ended up with a choice between the Excalibur and Damocles both heavily discounted as the LBS had given up dealing with Ridley and wanted rid of the stock to get more Cubes and Giants in their place. Mine's not Ultegra specced but comes with a Campagnolo Centaur groupy , that apart they are pretty much identical. All I can say is WOW! This is my first CF bike, having ridden a Cube Peloton prior to this. It absorbs road buzz beautifully and makes light work of some of the more irritating traffic calming measures we have in the UK . Climbing.. well there's a thing. I never knew I could go up hills like that. All for £1600 which at current exchange rates is a tad under $2500

Is this a different seat than the one listed from the manufacturer? They have black and this one is white.

Looks like our distributor for Ridley QBP did not get the cool Flandrien seat. Too bad the seat is bad ass.
