Luckily, they were inexpensive

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought these wheels in the winter of 2013/2014 to go on my 2013 Ridley Helium SL build. Because I run Campy, the wheels were discounted. Otherwise, I would be really pissed. It was a horrible winter here in the Mid-Atlantic so these wheels didn't see the light of day 'till March. Up until then, trainer duty. After maybe ten rides outside (maybe 400 miles?) the rear wheel spokes began to loosen. You could hear them climbing in a low gear. Rear wheel went out of true with one very loose spoke within a month of outside use. Front wheel has a little bearing play too.

Being a large male (6'4" @ 195lbs) I inquired of the sales staff if there was a weight limit on these wheels. I was told there was none. I usually buy Mavic Aksiums - the bottom of the line - and get two-to-three years of of the rear wheel before a spoke pulls through the rim. At my size two hundred grams here or there isn't really a factor but I thought I would try these wheels because they were a little lighter and only $100 more than the Aksiums. Should have stayed with the Mavics.

Luckily, they were inexpensive

Greetings, I would make a logical guess and say they are good up to 225#. Most manufactured wheels in this price point are overbuilt, and with a 20 front and 24 rear spoke build, you should be good to go. Any rider >225# should seek a wheel that has at least a 28 front and 28+ rear spoke count. Hope this helps :)
