Description

The Race Face Crank Boots offer an attractive and affordable solution to protecting your favorite cranks from the inevitable bashing and smashing incurred by riding through rough terrain and rock gardens. Crank Boots are especially useful with low-slung trail rigs, as the lower bottom bracket leaves less pedal and crank clearance over rough, boulder-strewn trails. They're also essential to protecting your pricey carbon cranks from unsightly scuffs and scratches.

  • Proprietary plastic blend
  • Remove pedals for installation

Necessity, Colors Are Off

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have these in Green. They don't match other green/lime colors by RaceFace. They work fine, but it would be nice to see them put a little more effort in to matching colors.

Which one fits the turbines tips?

Practice Safe Biking

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Crank condoms. Keep the rocks and boulders away from scratching your cranks with the RF crank boots.

One of the cheapest bike parts/accessories that adds a really nice look and added level of protection to your RF crankset. I have the Race Face Turbine crankset (on a Santa Cruz Hightower) and the Next SL/SixC fits them fairly well... not a perfect fit, but does the job.

Give me a shout if you have any biking questions, needs or concerns and I'd be happy to help!

Protects you cranks

I'm not sure why, but I bash my cranks on rocks a lot. So when I got fancy carbon cranks, these were a necessity. They have done absorbed a ton of abuse so far and don't seem any worse for the wear.

I got the black and they are discrete and you'll soon forget that they are there. Until your crank hits a rock, and then you'll be happy to have them.

add some flare and some protection

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These fit great on my xx1 cranks and now I can smash the ends all day long and not feel bad about it.

    Will they fit RF Turbine?

Hi Gallit - These are made to fit on most cranks and should fit the Turbines fine. If there are any issues, let me know! - Ben

These boots are made for stompin'!

Not sure why I haven't used crank boots previously. Easy to install, check. Inexpensive, check. Durable, check. Protects carbon cranks from rock strikes, check. Doesn't look dorky, check.

Great for pedaling through rock gardens

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

These crank arm protectors are not only great at adding some color to your color matching masterpiece, but also helps protect against all those rock strikes when pedaling through stuff you probably shouldn't. These fit fatter crank arms such as the Next SL. RaceFace also makes a narrow version to fit smaller cranks such as their Affect alloy crankset. Can also be modified with a dremel to fit some other cranks, but might not look as clean.

Will these fit the Shimano XT 8000 cranks?

Hey Peter - These Crank Boots should work with your Shimano XT 8000 crank according to Race Face ("Fit most other popular alloy MTB cranksets"). Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions.

really 5 stars but Didnt need to buy

The boots are nice and simple, but ..... they come with the crank . I was told by a salesman in a chat session that they do not come with the crank(they do ). So I have 2 pair . its not worth the cost shipping them back . I doubt that I will wear out the first pair .

      Red!!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Once again, the product comes in Red, so it's a no brainer. I had red pedals, so everything was OK. But I had to replace them, and my new ones were black. So black crank to black pedal was just too much black! Thank god for red crank boots! My color scheme was saved

I've hit many a crank arms and now I won't have to fear about damaging them with these booties! Works as advertised and highly recommended.

      Protection

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Carbon is expensive and fragile, protect it with colorful boots! These boots work great on Raceface Next sl cranks. If you have a pair of these cranks do not ride them without boots! These save carbon lives.

      Protect your cranks!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are simple - clean way to protect your carbon cranks. Do they look great? No. But they serve their purpose and will save your cranks from all of the hazards on the trail.
