Good value, chincy dust plate

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a big fan of the turbine cranks and threaded bottom bracket--so I'm buying this for seamless installs. All has been working well with one exception--on install, on a couple occasions I've cracked the little plastic dust plate/washer thing that goes on the outside of the bearing ring to help keep dust/water out. Not sure if I'm clumsy or its just been bad luck--but be mindful of this when handling the washer or tapping the spindle through. Deducting a star for the hassle this has been for me--otherwise, another great product from the RaceFace folks.

30mm spindle on threaded frame? YES!

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Why settle with GXP or Shimano 24mm spindles? Thank goodness that we can now use 30mm spindle cranks on threaded frames.

Silent crankin’

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I chose to put the Cinch bottom bracket on my Santa Cruz 5010. Loving it. Smooth, silent, and stiff. Give me a shout if you want to talk shop.

No Squeaks

This BB served me well last season. No squeaks or issues whatsoever, plus Raceface has a great offering of cranks for this one. Easy to install, although it does require a proprietary tool from raceface.

    Adaptability

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Cinch system really allows for one crank set to be used between different bottom bracket standards. For your threaded frames, this is the one you need. Quick and easy installation, bearings are quite tight and stiff out of the box, and will require a little break in. A great system.

    Super smooth bearings

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The bearings in this bottom bracket are really smooth. Surely I'm putting more power to the rear wheel. Easy to install with their cinch specific tool (not Shimano).

    Easy Servicability

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The 30mm spindle provides a super stiff platform that spins smooth and silent even after a season of hammering. Pair with a set of Raceface Next SL's to create a ultralight cranks assembly.

    So far so good

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

When building up a new trail bike, the race face cinch 30mm spindle setup came highly recommended. I just recently finished the bike, but so far things seem great. I like the idea of the larger 30mm spindle to get maximum stiffness, and the weight of the aluminum RF cranks I is very competitive with even some carbon offerings. Excited to put some real miles on to put this to the test, but with the right amount of grease and torque I'm confident that this will be a smooth setup.

    Its a Cinch!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I really like RaceFace's cinch system. The same crankset will work with pretty much any different frame, as long as you have the right BB. No need to buy a new crank if going from a frame with thread in BB to a PF30 or something like that. Just replace the BB and you are good to go!
And this BB spins smooth, has taken quite the abuse, and has had no problems whatsoever.

    so far no issues

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

After a few hundred miles still feels really smooth, No creaking or any other issues. Would definitely purchase again.

    Cinch

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm a fan of standards. Standards have come and gone when it comes to bikes. You now have to look at "platforms" and the RF Cinch helps you make sense of these platforms; for that I am thankful. Pick a Cinch crank, and match it to you frame's BB and you no longer have to figure out which adapter, converter, or widget you need to put your bike together.

    Smooth!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

The RaceFace Cinch BSA 30 bottom bracket works just as it should and is really smooth! The only thing I'm not too excited about is having to buy a special BSA30 wrench to install and remove it, but hey, you can never have enough tools, right?

Hello, will this bottom bracket work with specialized s-works cranks, I'm trying to put this combination on my BMX race bike. thank you

Probably not. These are designed for the Race Face Cinch cranks only

Does this BB include a special spanner wrench?

That does not come with the wrench to install that, but we do have them available Item # RCF000T.
