Burly men like you eschew man-scaping and indoor plumbing. You prefer running pants, bark-based toothbrushes, and the Puma Men's Faas 500TR GTX Shoe. If this shoe were a tire, it's be a studded beast of winter traction and unbeatable security. If this shoe were a car, it's a terrain-taming unimog on a smooth-riding German chassis. But, the Faas 500TR is none of those; instead, it's a brawny piece of Gore-Tex water protection and robust trail tech to carry you over the rivers and through the woods.
Gore-Tex lines the mesh uppers to give you guaranteed waterproof and guaranteed breathable protection. Running into knee-deep water means tanked toes, but short of that, your foot stays dry whether you're tromping through muddy trails or over slushy gravel paths. The Eco OrthoLite insole helps keep shoe stink to a minimum while airing out your paw. The Faas Foam midsole weighs next to nothing and keeps your footstrike soft and sweet.
The 4mm heel-forefoot drop isn't for heavy heel hitters but rather encourages a midfoot strike to help your transition to a more minimalist style of running. A decoupled heel and lateral release grooves help slow pronation without overt motion control. The EverGrip outsole is as it sounds—always getting grabby with the ground, regardless of whether it's scree fields or icy patches on slippery dirt.
