Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

have used these in single digit temps for cycling, hiking, and snow shoeing. They seem water repellant, and are absolutely warm and do not feel scratchy. The ankle zips make it easy to take off. My only minor criticism is the the waist is mid to low rise, but because of the wide band, the tights do stay up.

has kept me warm while riding in 20* weather, (colder w wind chill). it blocks out the wind and covers my ears. my lobes are a tiny bit exposed but this does not detract from its function for me. I did have to get used to the staggered slots for my glasses though. I've tried other head gear but prefer this for the coldest of days.

chamois fit is personal - so, although Giordanas are my favorite shorts, the older version was better for me. I started feeling some pressure around the front groin area, for whatever reason. I am keeping one, having used it multiple times for 30+ mile rides but returning the other since I don't absolutely love them. the feel of the fabric is great- compressive and not skin tight. the leg openings aren't as grippy feeling as the older version but for some reason the leg hems DON'T ride up. I wish they worked.

Giordana shorts are my favorite, but I did not like the chamois in these tights, which, not only seemed too thick, but it didn't extend forward enough. odd. I was afraid that I notice excessive pressure on front of my pelvis. Also, the waistband is not wide, and there's an internal elastic. When I took off the tight, the elastic had already twisted inside. the material is of very good quality, and felt thick and warm. the other feature I liked was the ankle zippers.

I am a fan of the Assos cream, but tried this based on reviews. It does work well for 2+ hr rides , BUT I can't get used to the waxy thick feel of this "cream." It's not really a cream but more of a combination vaseline - shoe polish like texture. I will return to my favorite.

bought this in a medium, though i normally wear a small, expecting the small to be too tight. in a medium, it's a very relaxed fit, but i love the color, the length, the arm grippers, and material; so I did not want to wait to get a replacement in my true size.

looser fit than expected. I own a few other Gore apparel in a medium which aren't as loose fitting (am 5'4" 117 lbs). the material is too thin for my taste, and the yellow is not as bright and neon as I had expected from the picture. it is more of a mustard yellow.

initially bought the Laser shorts and LOVED them. when I returned to the website to purchase a second pair, my size was sold out ! As my first Giordana shorts, I was very impressed with the quality of the material, and the chamois. So I ended up buying the FormaRed, and found them to be EVEN better: the compression, the feel, the breathability, and the chamois. They run a touch snugger than the FormaRed- but I kept the same size and they work well for me. Also, I have not found the leg grippers to be an issue.
