This jacket is first and foremost, super compact. It fits on your jersey's back pocket easily and it is ready for action in a second. It fits comfortably and it does resist some mild rain. I was able to test this during one of my rides a few weeks ago. When it started raining, I put on my jacket and when I got home, my jersey was the only thing dry on me. Now as far as drawbacks, I would think that the number one drawback is that it does not have a zipper in the back pocket. It only attaches with velcro and it does not seem secure enough to carry things. The other minor drawback is that it does make some noise when going against the wind. I can live with that, but some other people might find that annoying. Overall, I am very satisfied with this jacket and would recommend it without hesitation. This is not a jacket for cold weather. For that get a thermal jacket. This is for casual cool-weather riding.
This is an excellent long sleeve jersey for cool weather. This is the type of jersey you would wear on days that you would typically wear a base layer and a wind breaker. Instead of that you can wear this jersey. The material is not the same as the short sleeve summer version jersey. This long sleeve jersey has a cozy cotton like feeling inside, not sure what material is, but it warms your body. I had a fall (blame it on the rain), my bibs got ripped, but my jersey suffered minor injury. Got a bit dirty (white version), but still standing. Good quality.
...had to return them because the fit was a little bit awkward. I got a size L, which was definitely my size, the right tightness without affecting my ability to move or my circulation. The straps were placing too much strain on my shoulders (long torso?) and the front opening started a bit too low for my liking (this does not happen with the other bibs I own). When pairing it with a XL Castelli jersey from this same kit, it would show some skin if I were to stand straight and I did not find that nice. Maybe it was combination of both the jersey being too short and the bib being too low. As far as the padding, It seemed adequate even though I did not have the opportunity to test it in a ride.
These are the best pair of bibs I have. Not that I have a huge sample size to compare them against, but I own Castelli, Capo, Pearl Izumi, and these have the best true-size fit. I love everything about the bibs. The mesh on the straps are the best of any bib as they are easy to put on and off and they stay in place without placing any pressure whatsoever in your shoulders. The material is smooth and comfortable. The chamois is decently padded and comfortable. I wish they had a less flashy design, but to be sincere, once you have them on, you really forget about those big "H" everywhere because these are excellent.
