I wear toe covers when winter comes to San Francisco it is wet and cold along with a pair wool socks do the trick for keeping my toes warm. I have tried full shoe covers but they are hassle getting on and off. During heavy rains my feet get wet but stay warm and at work I put my shoes over the air vents and they are dry when I am ready to ride home. If you're riding along the California coast these and wool socks are all you need to make it through the winter.
The only complaint I have with these is the legs are baggy. Well not the legs exactly but the elastic below the knee is about 2 sizes too big. So they don't grip your calves. The pad, butt and thighs fit great. So if your legs are giant size below the knee buy them if not get something else.
Bought a pair of these gloves they are stiff and for some reason the web bites into my fingers. Not a supple or as well made as the Castelli gloves. Save your money and buy something else.
With all these European Jerseys you have to size up. I wear a XL in Pearl Izumi with this one I needed a XXL. Same with Castelli you have to size up. I bought the jersey and the matching bib shorts and they are good cycling gear at a great price. I am thinking of ordering another set. Service and shipping are great. I usually wash all my cycling gear on the gentle cycle and line dry. These got mixed up with the regular wash and got washed and dried on the normal cycle. They didn't shrink! Hey that's a plus. You can't beat the price for a quality cycling kit and you get a free a pair of socks.
