These are nice knickers; well made, flattering fit, nice details, very comfortable waistband, non-binding in the knees, and a stretchy but supportive material. HOWEVER, the deal breaker is the pad. Why on earth do women's cycling clothing manufacturers think a cycling pad has to cover a woman's entire ass???? HELLOOOO: the pad only needs to cover my sit bones and pubic area, guys! I don't need the padding on my tailbone, nor do I need it on my outer hips!!!!
I give up! I'm returning these knickers (I returned a pair of Castelli's for the same reason) and am ordering what I should have ordered in the first place: Giordana Women's Forma Red Carbon knickers. I have been searching for a less expensive but performance oriented product for too long. I now swear my allegiance to Giordana. They understand what a women's cycling pad should be. For comparison, take a look at the photo I've included in my review. The green pad is the LG Pro Women's knicker, the red pad is the Giordana Women's Forma Red Carbon bib short pad.
Why do some cycling clothing manufacturers (especially women's) think a cycling pad has to cover your entire ass???? Actually, the pad on these knickers extends practically to my outer hips!! No, thank you! I'll leave the waddling to the ducks!
I will say that the material is very supportive and the inner lining is low-pile fleece which felt really warm. The waistband was also super comfortable. Castelli would have a great product with this knicker if only they did something about that pad!!!
Okay, positives first: these are warm, good zippers and have articulable knees.
Negatives: I could not get them to stay up - annoying on a 32* day!! They guys told me I should wear a garter belt with them. Ha, ha, ha.
The silicone grippers are on the outside of the upper thigh on these warmers, but, since my bibs don't have silicon grippers on the inside of the leg holes, so there was no silicone-silicone contact to keep the darn things up! Annoying, to say the least.
Bought this jacket on sale a couple of years ago. It is absolutely amazing. Beautifully made and fits like a glove. I just need a bigger size, since the shoulders run a bit small. This is the absolute best women's jacket I have ever worn. The sleeve and torso length is perfect (I'm 5'7" and got a medium) and the pockets actually hold my winter riding extras. Oh, and it looks great also!! I will definitely buy another - one size larger - when they come on sale :)
Okay, so upper body musculature is not conducive to cycling performance: extra weight that doesn't equate to better performance. I'll give you that. But at 5'7" and 145, I'm not that big, I just have some big shoulders and biceps from years of swimming and weightlifting (triathlon, anyone?). Needless to say, the medium size I usually wear is not a size I can wear in women's cycling clothing. So, I ordered a large in this jacket, hoping it would accommodate my shoulders. No such luck. The waist and length are perfect; I love the warm fleece lining, and this jacket is really great on cold winter rides. But it is too small in the shoulders! I'd order the next size up because I liked the jacket so much, but found that the small, singular, zippered back pocket is basically non-functional. It's too small to carry a cell phone, snack and beanie in case it gets really cold. I am returning this jacket and will probably save my pennies to buy the ultimate jacket: the Giordana Forma Red Carbon.
I love the attention to detail and beautiful fit of these bibs, but the chamois is not the top of the line Giordana minimalist pad that I prefer. This is my fourth pair of Giordana bibs, and find the FormaRedCarbon/BodyClone to be the best made, most comfortable and performance oriented women's cycling short out there. Alas, the $90 sale price was too good to be true....I'm keeping the shorts because of the price and beautiful fit, but would have preferred the better chamois!
This is a great rack; easy to install, easy to mount the bike, and SECURE for my precious cargo. HOWEVER, when there is no bike in the rack, the rear tray and wheel tie down, when mounted behind the crossbar, slips off and is gone. Does Yakima sell this extra part???? Seems like I'm not the only one who's lost the rear tray.....
Easy to install on my '01 Nissan Pathfinder factory crossbars and the fork mounts hold securely without touching my bike frame. Perfect!!
Yeah, the fit is great, the waistband is great, the mesh behind the knees is great....but the chamois SUCKS and for me, it's all about the chamois! What happened, George???
As Lulu says, the chamois is so big it folds up between your legs, and it's so big it sticks out behind your butt....Pampers would provide a better fit!
Finally, a weatherproof jacket that doesn't flap in the wind, has external back pockets and looks great. Unbelievable wind resistance and warmth in a jacket that fits like a glove. This jacket is form-fitting and stretchy, but felt a bit snug for my broad shoulders - until I got on the bike. The cut is made for a riding position! The elastic bottom hem keeps the jacket from riding up and the 3 back pockets and outer zippered pocket are great. My go-to piece for cold weather rides!
