I use these to run rugged trails- excellent traction even on super dry terrain where a lot of other sneakers will have you sliding around. I don't love the insole as the arches feel excessively high. While the Salomon lace system boasts an "even tightening technology" I find that the laces tend to get uncomfortably tighter near the top (toward the ankle) of the show. That being said, none of these things have been so bad as to keep me from using these as my trail running shoes. Fit is otherwise true to size- I wear size 8 for Asics, 7.5 for K-swiss, and have a 7.5 for these shoes (worn with thin socks). I run about 40-50 miles a week (more during race season).
At 5'3", 115 lbs it's sometimes hard to find MTB shorts that fit. This is no exception. While I think Mavic's size chart is a bit off, these shorts allow for NO adjustability around the waist. (Otherwise, if you can find a pair that will well, nice that it comes with a liner chamois.)
I think the vest is awesome- I use it on windy/ slightly chilly days where I need something to cut through the wind, so that the wind doesn't cut through me. I do wish that I would have sized down. I'm always between a small and XS- should have gone for the XS (vest billows a bit in the wind). Does the job, packs well into small jersey pocket. 2 thumbs up.
