Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

used it for 7 straight days while skiing. i loved it. above a ski jacket you dont notice you have it on, and it fits seemlessly between a jacket and a backpack. one clip to take it on and off, and easy to screw/unscrew the camera with gloves on (so you can watch your last run on the next lift ride up, of course...). very happy i got this instead of using the helmet mount (which is actually incl when u buy the camera)

I am new to GoPro-ing so i was torn between the 4 Silver and the 4 Black. There are literally thousands of reviews and comparisons on the web but here's why I went with the silver: the touch-back LCD screen. This serves 2 purposes: 1, u can actually see what you are filming, and 2, u can scroll thru the menu and setting just like u would any more digital camera or your phone.

The 'touch' backdoor is really great and it is more rugged than it looks (and is supposedly waterproof to 10m). The case is very protective, unless you plan on running the camera over with a truck you wont have to worry about damaging the camera.

paired it with the chesty attachment and it worked great while skiing.

ultimately, this is really easy to set up and use, and it exceeded my expectations when using it on a ski trip. Get a spare battery and take them both fully charged when you leave.
