Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I chose these shorts because they were on sale with a good discount. I was blown away by how much I like the shorts and snap in chamois they come with. I use the shorts mtn biking year round with tights if its too cold. I also use the shorts at the gym and running if I only have one pair of shorts while traveling. The only thing I'd ask for is more pockets. The two pockets are good but 3 or 4 would be better.

I bought a size M, I'm 6' 182 pounds with a 34-35" waist. Size L was too baggy and loose.

Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

Really disappointed in this helmet. I expected a little more from a $100 Fox helmet even if it was on sale. The fit system is the same as helmets at Walmart. For the same price get the SixSixOne Recon helmet with a BOA fit system. If money isn't a problem get the POC Trabec for $150.

I really enjoy these shorts. I've ordered a few other pairs from brands like Alpinestars but didn't like the way they fit. These have a good fit, not great but they aren't meant to fit like normal shorts (their waist is true to size but the thighs are tight). They have portions of the short which are elastic/stretchy to allow the heavier bomb proof sections to move freely while you ride. I also like that the back right pocket has a zipper and located off the right hip instead of on your butt.

Familiarity: I've used it several times

Historically I'd used 661, Fox, ProTech and other helmets for dirt jumping and more freeride style riding. But I decided to take a chance with paying extra for this POC and I don't think I'll ever go back. I use it 4-5 times a week and never get tired of it. Light, breathable, and secure.

The only word of caution is to check the sizing I got a XL when I'm usually a L. And also the helmet is over sized so I use goggles, I think it would look a little funny with just glasses.
