Here's what others have to say...

I have had a couple other pairs of Salomons (The XA mids and XA low) and these run a good half size bigger. I thought some thicker socks would make up the difference, but it's too much, they are noticeably bigger for some reason. Bummed cuz I have a couple runs in them already, so I am outta luck!

Traction wise they are fantastic in anything wet, snow or mud. I would go with something else for bone dry trails though.

I am on my third pair of these because they have worked really well for me. The morpho dynamic sole has done the trick to eat up rocky trails. I have not had any problems with feeling pointy rocks through them. They are super snug on my foot. I did not have to get a larger size as some have said, so maybe I just like a snugger shoe. However, this third pair (green) seems to have a noticeably larger toe box. I don't like it at all actually as now my forefoot can move around and does not feel locked in like on the previous two pairs. I have tightened the laces all the way down and still have the same problem.
In summary, I probably will not buy these again unless putting a different insole in snugs them back up again.

I have only had these out on a few runs so far, but they do grip very well on everything from dirt, rooty trails, to loose, small rocks, to scree and talus fields. I would say the morpho dynamic marketing mumbo jumbo is reasonably accurate. They're not super light, but not heavy. They are not super breathable or cool, but not suffocating like my gore tex salomon trail runners. The fit is fantastic. I had to go a half size up from my la sportiva exum pros (they were quite a bit shorter than my exums) for whatever reason, and they hug my foot sort of like you want a quality soccer shoe to do. Their durability seems fine, but as I said, I've only had them out a handful of times.

Arrived fully built and rideable. The rear derailleur was not shifting great right away, but livable for a couple short rides. Cables stretched significantly on one hard ride, but that is to be expected. I ended up re-setting up the rear derailleur completely when taking up the cable slack with barrel adjusters didn't do the job. The bike has barrel adjusters directly in the cable housing near the handlebars which come in very handy when fine tuning brakes and derailleurs.

The bike rides MUCH smoother than my all aluminum cross bike. There has been no noticeable brake shudder for me so far. I would definitely recommend it, especially with this spec, at this price.
