Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

As daily rider commuter over past 4 years, i dont have a car, the Sidi shoe once sized correctly do fit like no other out of box hands down. Supple upper with perfect padding in toungue and variable pressure upon dorsal foot by closure system that is adjustable on fly. Color options are fun and can be motivating when you have to dress daily gor the emride regardless of weather.
I have protective tain covers i use when appropriate.

Ive had these shoes sopping wet from rainstorns and once dry are back in tip top form.

The MTB shoe is heavier, especially noted after 40 miles or so and can be a bit hotter in summer, agree with comments by EMW.

But considering superior fit of SIDi may be worth it for you dependent upon your individual use..

Supple comfortable shoe with adjustable insoles included that assist with proper fit. Light supple feel with just the right amount of fluorescent yellow for visibility reasons and safety. It is true that heel support is skimpy, and after few uses on hard pavement appear to have thinned prematurely, but also makes the shoe a soft comfortable walk. Hard to find a shoe made in safety yellow that is not too ostentatious, but this shoe appears to meet that need.
