They're better than nothing, but not much better. These are good for when is barely getting chilly but I wouldn't buy them if you plan on using them effectively below 45 degrees. I went on a ride in about 32 degree weather and couldn't feel anything below the ankle when I got home. I didn't expect to be warm, but didn't think I would be that cold. That being said, they have been fine for days above 45 degrees.
I got these for free with a pair of P.I. tights. I simply expected them to be warmer. The fingers don't have any insulation whatsoever, in fact theres actually pinholes for circulation in the sides of them. The wind covers make it better and they can kind of work for warmer days but the seams in the wind covers are actually coming apart. I would return them if I had paid for them. The gel padding works great, and the fitting chart was perfect for me. Would not waste money on them though.
- NOT that waterproof, it seemed like a waterproof coating wore off and then water just poured in the front zipper
- That zipper is pointless, you still have to pull it over your head completely
- No hand pockets
- Thumb Hole material IS cheap and I don't understand how thumb holes help me as a cyclist
My main quarrel is that its not that waterproof. After a week of use I got drenched at a football game all through the zipper, with some other wet spots in odd places. Then the zipper itself is a complete waste. It doesn't zip to the top so you still have to pull it over your head. I sent it back because everything I wanted it for didn't work.
