I've switched to exclusively wearing Giordana FRC and this jacket lives up to the rest of the line. First, I love that Giordana doesn't sacrifice style and quality in its women's line, unlike most other brands that don't offer women's options in their highest end products. This jacket has all the bells and whistles of the men's version. Wore it in 40-degree weather with a baselayer and was toasty warm. The side vents are especially worth the extra money over the Silverline or Fusion jackets - as the day warmed up to about 55, I unzipped the vents and the jacket regulated temperature perfectly. Has three nicely sized pockets plus a zip pocket on the back, AND an iphone pocket on the front inside chest. Sizing tip -- the shoulders run small because of the jacket's windproof fabic, which is less stretchy and flexible than normal jersey fabric. I wear a small Giordana jersey but have wider shoulders than your average size small, so I had to size up to a medium in this jacket for range of motion.
I love the graphic print on these shorts and the material, but the chamois gives you a wedgie when you're standing. On the bike, everything is great, but off it's not fun to walk in. Can't figure out exactly why this happens - the chamois for these shorts is the same one for the silverline bibs, and I've had no problem with those. I got these half off, so will probably keep them for shorter rides where I'm not on and off the bike a lot.
I've been wearing pearl izumi bibs and will never go back. I was attracted to these because they're one of the only matching kits for women with bibs. There are few things in the world that I would say are worth this much money, but indeed the price describes the quality. Really flattering cut/graphics, amazing materials, feels better than wearing nothing! The jersey is equally great. Also the holiday blue color matches the 2012 CAAD 10 5 (raw/blue) perfectly!
I'm 5'1, 130lbs, and ordered size medium in both the shorts and jersey. I have a really short waist and might have to get the straps tailored up an inch or two, but I have that issue with all bibs. I found that the shorts inseam and the jersey sleeves are a bit longer than others, maybe because I'm short, but I love the length - will provide more tanline options in the summer and keep arm warmers in place when it gets cooler, plus the material and fit are so amazing that you don't even notice the difference.
In sum: you will forever regret not buying these.
Bought these for 40-50 degree riding. Really comfy, the extra material on the knees is a nice feature, and the zippers are perfect for bathroom breaks. My only tip is to size down - I ended up needing an XS in these, but I wear a size S in specialized leg warmers and a size M in pearl izumi bibs. I'm 5'1" with a 30" normal inseam and the smalls were about 2 inches too long and too baggy in the calf.
